Our pupils recently enjoyed an inspiring visit to the University of Greenwich, where they explored the beautiful and historic architecture that surrounds the campus. From the moment they arrived, children were captivated by the impressive buildings and the stories behind them, gaining a deeper appreciation for the significance of the site.
The day included a guided tour, allowing pupils to learn about the history and purpose of the different buildings. They asked thoughtful questions, engaged with the information shared and showed real curiosity as they discovered how architecture can reflect culture, identity and time.
Throughout the visit, children sketched a range of architectural features, carefully observing shapes, patterns and details. This hands-on activity helped them develop their drawing skills while encouraging them to look closely at the world around them.
Pupils also worked collaboratively to research information and later presented their findings to other groups with confidence and clarity. Their teamwork and communication were evident as they shared what they had learned.
Charlton Athletics also provided a valuable moment for pupils to reflect on their upcoming transition to secondary school. They discussed their hopes, asked questions and considered the exciting changes ahead, helping them feel more prepared for the next stage in their education.
Overall, the visit was an enriching and educational experience that strengthened the young learners knowledge, communication skills and confidence.
This experience reflects our school value of Growth because they expanded their understanding, developed new skills and embraced opportunities that will support them as they move forward in their learning journey.
